The International Journal of Communication and Art (IJCOMAR) acknowledges the growing use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and writing. The journal permits the responsible and transparent use of AI-assisted tools solely for language editing, grammar correction, and stylistic improvement. Generative AI tools must not be used for content creation, data fabrication, image generation, or analytical processes that replace human scholarly judgment. AI applications cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, as they cannot assume responsibility for the content of a scholarly work.
Authors are required to disclose any use of AI-assisted tools at the time of submission by providing an AI Usage Statement. Authors retain full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, and ethical integrity of their manuscripts, including any content produced with AI assistance.
Editors and reviewers are expected to uphold confidentiality and academic integrity and must not upload unpublished manuscripts or review materials to external AI systems. Any use of AI tools in the editorial or review process must be conducted responsibly and transparently.
IJCOMAR aligns its AI policy with internationally recognized publication ethics guidelines, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
