Publication Process and Quality Assurance

  1. Plagiarism and Originality Check:
    The International Journal of Communication and Art (IJCOMAR) maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. Authors must declare that their manuscripts are original, have not been published elsewhere, and are not under consideration by any other journal. Manuscripts are scanned using plagiarism detection software to check similarity rates. Manuscripts with similarity indices above 15% may be outright rejected or returned to authors for necessary revisions. Authors are prohibited from reusing substantial parts of their previously published works. Each new manuscript is expected to provide a unique scientific contribution. Citations of other works must be properly sourced, and failure to correctly reference bibliographic information will be considered an ethical violation.
  2. Correction, Retraction, and Complaint Procedures:
    If a significant error or ethical violation is detected in a published manuscript, immediate action will be taken by authors and editors. In the case of scientific or technical errors, editors will contact authors to request a correction. Manuscripts containing serious ethical breaches or scientific misconduct will be retracted, and the retraction decision will be announced in the relevant issue of the journal. Authors, reviewers, or readers who detect unethical behavior or errors during the publication process may file complaints. All complaints are carefully examined by the journal management, and corrective actions will be taken when necessary.
  3. Protection of Personal Data:
    IJCOMAR protects the personal data of authors, reviewers, and readers. During the manuscript evaluation process, author and reviewer identities are kept anonymous according to the double-blind peer review principle. The confidentiality of participants and third parties mentioned in published articles is strictly preserved. Data sets and participant information used in research will not be shared or published without the necessary permissions. Any disclosure of personal information will result in legal actions by the journal management.
  4. Ethics Committee Approval:
    Since 2020, studies requiring ethics committee approval, including those involving surveys, scales, interviews, observations, or the use of documents, images, questionnaires developed by others that require permission, must have obtained the necessary approvals before conducting the research. These approvals must be clearly stated within the manuscript and submitted as supplementary documentation. Manuscripts lacking these approvals will be returned to the authors during preliminary screening. For studies requiring ethics approval, information about the approval (committee name, date, approval number) must be provided in the Methods section as well as on the first or last page of the manuscript. Such studies include but are not limited to:
  • Research employing qualitative or quantitative methods that collect data from participants through surveys, interviews, focus groups, observation, experiments, or interview techniques;
  • Use of humans or animals (including materials/data) for experimental or scientific purposes;
  • Clinical trials conducted on humans;
  • Research involving animals;
  • Retrospective studies subject to personal data protection laws.

A manuscript submitted through IJCOMAR’s electronic system by a clearly identified author is considered a formal submission and initiates the evaluation process. From this point onward, all legal and ethical responsibilities concerning intellectual property and ownership issues lie with the submitting author.

IJCOMAR designs its processes in accordance with the principles of digitized relationships in the internet era. All stages, from manuscript submission, evaluation, to publication upon acceptance, are conducted electronically via IJCOMAR’s official website.

IJCOMAR disclaims all legal, regulatory, financial, and ethical liabilities arising from manuscripts submitted for evaluation. Even if such manuscripts are published, IJCOMAR accepts no responsibility for any violations.
