Plagiarism and Originality Check
The International Journal of Communication and Art (IJCOMAR) is committed to upholding academic integrity and originality. Authors must declare that their manuscripts are original, have not been published elsewhere, and are not under consideration by another journal.
All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Similarity reports are evaluated by editors in accordance with disciplinary norms and contextual considerations. Manuscripts exhibiting unacceptable levels of plagiarism, redundant publication, or self-plagiarism may be rejected or returned to authors for revision. Proper citation and accurate referencing are mandatory, and failure to comply with these standards is considered an ethical violation.
Correction, Retraction, and Complaint Procedures
If significant errors or ethical issues are identified in a published manuscript, appropriate corrective actions are taken in accordance with COPE guidelines. Corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions may be issued depending on the nature and severity of the issue. Complaints submitted by authors, reviewers, or readers are reviewed carefully, and necessary actions are taken transparently.
Protection of Personal Data
IJCOMAR is committed to protecting the personal data and confidentiality of authors, reviewers, and research participants. The journal employs a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring that author and reviewer identities remain confidential. Personal data and sensitive information included in manuscripts are handled in compliance with ethical and legal standards and are not disclosed without appropriate authorization.
Ethics Committee Approval
Since 2020, studies requiring ethics committee approval, in accordance with relevant legislation, institutional regulations, and international research ethics standards, must obtain the necessary approvals before commencing the research. Such approvals must be clearly stated within the manuscript and submitted as supplementary documentation. Manuscripts that require ethics approval but lack the necessary documentation are returned to the authors during the preliminary evaluation stage.
For studies requiring ethics committee approval, the committee name, approval date, and approval number must be stated in the Ethics Committee Statement section of the article, added to the Title Page, and uploaded to the system as a separate file.
Studies that may require ethics committee approval include, but are not limited to, the following:
For research designs that do not require ethics committee approval under applicable regulations or disciplinary practices (such as theoretical, historical, critical, or archival studies that do not involve human or animal subjects or personal data), authors are expected to state this condition within the manuscript clearly.
Digital Publication Process and Editorial Responsibility
All submission, review, and publication stages are conducted electronically via IJCOMAR’s official online system. The journal operates in accordance with international publication ethics standards and maintains editorial responsibility throughout the publication process in line with COPE principles.
