Abstract
Güncel sanat uygulamalarında malzeme ve tekniğin olanakları gün geçtikçe genişlemektedir. Postmodern süreçten bu yana bu ilişki çeşitli biçimlerde ele alınmıştır ve hala ele alınmaya devam etmektedir. Bu durum sürekli alternatif malzeme arayan bir yapıya dönüşmüştür. Bu bağlamda sürdürülebilirlik önemli bir olgu olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Günümüzde tekstil endüstrisinin çok yoğun tüketim ihtiyacına cevap verdiği bilinmektedir. Bu durum, beraberinde kullanılmayan, atık olarak değerlendirilebilen ya da parça tekstil ürünlerini, geri dönüştürülebilir yapısıyla, bir kaynak olarak değerlendirmeyi mümkün kılmaktadır.
Bu çalışmada ilk önce, sürdürülebilirlik kavramı ve tekstil ilişkisi incelenecektir. Daha sonra malzeme olarak tekstilin tekniğe dönüşen yapısıyla heykel sanattaki örneklerine değinilecektir. Bu örnekler içinde güncel sanatçılardan konuyu ele alışı bakımından daha farklı bir yapıyla eserler üreten Joana Schneider’ın işleri üzerinden değerlendirme yapılması hedeflenmektedir. Bu doğrultuda Schneider’ın işleri hem sürdürülebilen malzeme hem de süregelen bir içerik olarak değerlendirilip çalışma sonlandırılacaktır.
Bu çalışmanın bütününde araştırma ve bulguların derlenmesi sırası ile gözetilecektir. Araştırma sırasında çeşitli yazılı ve görsel kaynakların yanı sıra, internet veri tabanı ortamından da yararlanacaktır. Bu çalışmanın materyalini ise çeşitli görsel kaynaklar ve literatür taraması sonucunda elde edilen verilerin oluşturması hedeflenmektedir.

Abstract
The possibilities of materials and techniques in contemporary art applications are expanding day by day. Since the postmodern period, this relationship has been handled in various ways and still continues to be discussed. This situation has turned into a structure that is constantly looking for alternative materials. In this context, sustainability emerges as an important phenomenon.Today, it is known that the textile industry responds to the need for intense consumption. This makes it possible to evaluate the unused, waste or piece textile products as a resource with their recyclable structure.
In this study, firstly, the concept of sustainability and the relationship between textiles will be examined. Then, the examples of sculpture in art will be mentioned with the structure of textile as a material turned into technique. Among these examples, it is aimed to evaluate the works of Joana Schneider, who produces works with a different structure in terms of handling the subject from contemporary artists. In this direction, Schneider's works will be evaluated as both sustainable material and an ongoing content and the study will be concluded.
Throughout this study, research and compilation of findings will be observed in order. During the research, besides various written and visual sources, it will also benefit from the internet database environment. The material of this study is aimed to form the data obtained as a result of various visual sources and literature review.
