Abstract
Bu araştırma, Cumhuriyet Dönemi çağdaş Türk resim sanatının gelişim süreci bağlamında önemli sanat hareketlerini ve önemli bazı sanatçıların resimlerini incelemektedir. Türk sanat tarihinin çağdaşlaşma sürecinde ilk sanat okulu olan Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebinin Avrupa’ya gönderdiği öğrencilere değinilecektir. Bu öğrencilerin ülkelerine döndüklerinde getirdikleri yeni üslup ve konuların Türk resim sanatında nasıl bir yer ettiğini ve çağdaşlaşma girişimlerinin ne yönde başarı kazandığını incelemektedir. Bu öğrencilerin kurdukları gruplar “1914 Kuşağı (Çallı Kuşağı)”, Müstakil Ressamlar ve Heykeltraşlar Birliği ve bu birliğin dağılması sonucunda bazı üyelerin bir araya gelmesiyle kurulan D Grubu sanat hareketine değinilecektir. Bu sanat hareketleri, resim sanatının estetik değerleriyle çağdaş bir niteliği nasıl kazandığını, özellikle Ali Avni Çelebi ve Zeki Kocamemi’nin Türk resim tarihinin çağdaşlaşma sürecinde yeni bir resim anlayışını irdelenmektedir.

Abstract
This research examines the important art movements and the paintings of some important artists in the context of the development process of the contemporary Turkish painting art in the Republican Period. The students sent to Europe by Sanayi-i Nefise School, the first art school in the modernization process of Turkish art history, will be mentioned. It examines how the new styles and subjects brought by these students when they returned to their countries have a place in Turkish painting and how successful their modernization attempts have been. The groups established by these students, the “1914 Generation (Çallı Generation)”, the Independent Painters and Sculptors Association, and the D Group art movement, which was founded by some members as a result of the dissolution of this union, will be mentioned. These art movements examine how the art of painting gained a contemporary quality with its aesthetic values, especially Ali Avni Çelebi and Zeki Kocamemi's new understanding of painting in the modernization process of Turkish painting history.
